STILL CALLED

Today I have seen numerous posts about the election. (duh, it is today) I have also seen an astounding number of posts about prayer.

β€’

Then I thought to myself, what if we were ALWAYS in prayer like we are today? What if we didn’t just fall to our knees on days as such but just any day we choose to pray and talk with Jesus?

β€’

I understand the importance of today. I understand what is at stake and the values on the line depending who wins. I understand our country is hurting and is in dire need of healing. I understand that praying is the only thing that makes sense to do today.

β€’

But what if?? What if you were fervent in prayer ALL the time? What if we chose to pray for this country EVERY day? What if we chose to pray for our government and leaders DAILY? What if we chose to pray for our neighbors EVERY day? What if we prayed for healing EVERY day? And what if we decided to pray not just for others to see things the way we see them but pray that Jesus would change our own hearts instead?

β€’

You see, regardless of who wins this election, Jesus is STILL COMING BACK. No matter what color celebrates tonight or within the next few days, Jesus is STILL KING. And no matter how ugly things may become in this world, Jesus’ promises STILL REMAIN.

β€’

In order for good to exist in the world there must be evil. In order for us to be saved, there must be a reason for the saving. In order for us to see the light, there must be darkness. You can’t have one thing without the other. Judas betrayed Jesus in order for everything else to fall into place. Through the betrayal, it led to His death on the cross. NOT just for the chosen, but for EVERYONE.

β€’

In order for us to be united with our Creator once again, certain things need to happen. It won’t always be pretty or easy to swallow but it is necessary.

β€’

So, whatever the outcome may be, we are still called to LOVE LIKE JESUS. We are still called to BE A LIGHT. We are still called to FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT.

“However, I say to you, love your enemy, bless the one who curses you, do something wonderful for the one who hates you and respond to the very ones who persecute you by praying for them.” Matthew 5:44 (TPT)
