SERVE.

Have you ever thought about what the word “serve” actually means? Or how about how you personally view that word?

β€’

Well lately it has been on my heart. SERVE. What does that look like to me? How have I shown that lately? Am I serving the way Jesus served? Would He actually be proud to call me a good & faithful SERVANT?

β€’

It has always been my heart to serve others. Whether that was being able to treat them to lunch, buy them something they were in need of, bless them with a few dollars so they can treat themselves or be able to pay for a bill. If it meant hosting a gathering at my home, being the last to eat so everyone else has plenty, only getting 4 hours of sleep because my little one was sick and just wanted to snuggle all night.

β€’

Here is the thing about serving. If you aren’t doing it out of love then it is NOT serving. When you do something because you expect to be blessed by God or to hang that “service” over that person’s head for later on, it is NOT serving.

β€’

I don’t choose to do those acts because I want to see what I can get in return. I choose to SERVE because it is what Jesus did. It is what He does. It is what He will ALWAYS do. Even when we don’t deserve His servitude.

β€’

EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

β€’

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10 (nkjv)

β€’

MINISTER:

-To be a servant, attendant, to serve, wait upon

-To relieve one’s necessities (e.g. by collecting alms), to provide take care of, distribute, the things necessary to sustain life

-To attend to anything, that may serve another’s interests

β€’

I believe we all have gifts that we can use for the good of others. I believe that we are capable of SERVING ONE ANOTHER because it is God’s will for us.

β€’

“Capability is not about what you are able to do, but what you allow God to do through you.” -B.W.
