Everyday Heroes

April 15, 2020 was one for the books. I had no idea I was going to get the level of emotions I did. I am beyond blessed and just about speechless. I believe we have been called to numerous professions but the one we need the most right now is Healthcare. Being able to capture these moments and see first hand the expressions of these workers brought me to tears. Coming together as One Nation under God, to share his love in this way was such an experience. As these workers at our local Memorial Hermann Cypress, spend endless days and nights caring for others and seeing loss after loss, we were able to bring a little joy to their lives. Even if, for just a short period of time. We were able to thank them and remind them, that they are not alone. They have a TEAM!

During this season our world has two choices. We can choose to come together, be there for one another, or, we can choose to become divided because we may have different views. It is up to us during this crucial period in time to make the right decision. The one that will allow us as a people, to be knitted together and ready to stand in the gap for when we may face another tragedy like today.

It is no longer he or she but WE. It is not longer they or them but US. It is no longer race or religion but HUMANITY.

Since the very beginning of this pandemic, many people have felt hurt, pain, heartache, grief and defeat. Many of those people are right here in our backyards and unless we FORCE our pride aside, we will continue to be blinded to those who may need a friend the most. We will continue to choose division over unity.

So today, choose selflessness. Choose kindness. Choose forgiveness. Choose to put your neighbor before yourself just because. Let’s choose to show the rest of the world that it is possible to BUILD UP even though the circumstances around us may be falling apart.

What do you say, are you in friend?
