β€œBut the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.”Genesis 39:21

As a mom there are many, many things that can discourage you. Numerous distractions can get in your way or even an unending amount of problems can fill your head. These things can keep you from experiencing all the blessings God has for your life. But whether you are a mom or not I think we can all agree β€œIf it’s not one thing, it’s another.” Right? I read the story of Joseph and am encouraged, frustrated and convicted. Frustrated because of the things he had to endure and how certain people totally mistreated him and made up lies to purposely get him into trouble. Convicted because when things in my life get tough my first thought is to complain and try and fix the situation myself. When I really need to cry out to the Lord and be thankful for what I have. Find happiness in the Lord alone and not be shaken by my circumstances. Lastly, I am encouraged by Joseph’s story because it shows me that my problems can be so much bigger than what they are now, yet they are not. I know it’s easier to tell others β€œThings can always be worse.” But never fully believe that for yourself. The next time you are overwhelmed and feel like you are in the suckiest situation ever, think again. Choose to believe that the Lord is with you. Fight against the lies of the enemy and KNOW that wherever you are, the Lord is right there with whatever it is you need. He will always prove Himself when we choose to believe with our whole heart and continue to love Him regardless of where we may be or what we may be going through. So today, let us remember Joseph and what he endured. Let us be encouraged and press on. Let us choose to be Joseph strong.
