Can I just say that life, even though it is so beautiful and all the things we go through have a purpose, can still be the very thing that knocks us down over and over again? It’s like right when you think you have it figured out, SMACK! There you go tumbling down the hill while life itself is at the very top laughing hysterically and pointing its finger right at you!! Can I get an amen? …..Anyone?? Haha. Those are the moments when I need to stop feeling so petty and remember that God has allowed all of these things we are going through to happen. He didn’t forget about you. He sure as heck didn’t leave your side! God is simply allowing the struggle to help strengthen you my dear friend. I have been reading a Daily Devotional book recently called A Little God Time for Mothers (HUGE thanks to my best friend, my mother.) and it has wrecked me in the best ways!
Yesterday’s devo was about struggles and there was one quote that totally woke me! It read, “Struggles encourage strengthening in the weakest areas of our lives.” I was blown away at how this simple quote comforted, stung, then comforted me a little more all at the same time. Ha. It really was the Lord because these pasts few months life has been a struggle for me. At least personally. I was so certain about what I wanted to do with my life but recently all that has changed. And right now, I am accepting the change and learning to thank God for what I have struggled through because I know it is only to make me stronger. He wants what is best for me. He wants what’s best for you. Will we always agree or like the way he gets us there? Probably not. (Most the time not.) But that does not change his plan for our lives. We can stomp our feet, fall to the floor kicking and whining but it won’t do any good. You are just wasting energy and precious time that you only think you have when you could be thanking God for what you have and for loving you enough to make you a better person! So, this is for all those who thought they had their 2, 5, or 10-year plan all figured out and now feel hopeless. HE ISN’T DONE YET!! Things change, life happens and whatever plans we may have had were simply just not what he had for us. Remember this, Jesus suffered and faced struggles in his life here on earth and whoever desired to follow Him will face the same. Nothing less. But in these trials we are being strengthened. We are being renewed. We are becoming who he has always created to be. Be patient my friend and I promise it will all be worth it in the end. Blessings and love.
